Metformin®
Daily oral pill
Ozempic (generic name: Semaglutide) is a GLP-1 agonist FDA approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
Metformin (brand name: Glucophage, Riomet, Glumetza) is FDA approved to treat type 2 diabetes. However, its off-label use has shown effectiveness with weight loss.
How does

work:
- Regulates the body’s response to insulin, decreases intestinal absorption of glucose and reduces appetite

- abdominal pain
- cough
- nausea/vomiting
- diarrhea
- fast or shallow breathing
- fever or chills
- muscle pain or cramping
- sleepiness
- painful or difficult urination
- metallic taste

Expected Results:
- Patients lost on average 5% of their body weight after 12 months
Do not take
Metformin®
if you:
- have a history of renal (kidney) dysfunction
- have congestive heart failure needing drug treatment
- are allergic to metformin or any of its ingredients
- have acute or chronic metabolic acidosis
- have impaired hepatic (liver) function
